An Indian will be nominate for the U.S. Surgeon General
IANS, Washington : U.S. President Barack Obama's plan, the new Indian origin Dr. Vivek Hlligere Murti Will be appoint to the U.S. Surgeon General. Dr. Murthy is the president of a group of Indian - American doctors, which is encouraging Obama's ambitious health care plan .
If his appointment is approved by the Senate then he will take place of Rogena Benjamin. Benjamin was appointed Surgeon General by Obama in 2009. And he had resigned from his post last summer. The major responsibility of this position is to focus on public health issues.
About Dr Vivek Murti
Murthy got BA from Harvard University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management and from the Yale School of Medicine also got MD degree. Dr. Murthy, the founder and president of an organisation known as Doctors of America.

Murti was appointed chairman of the President's Consultative Group for Integrated Health Promotion and Public Health in 2011. Murti had been a founder of world wide vision since 1995 that works in India and the U.S. for HIV / AIDS-related education works.
