As the south korean tech major Samsung Electronics seeks to
further bolster its product portfolio across the country, the company on
Tuesday launched its wearable computing smartwatch galaxy note3 in India.
The fact that the two devices have been introduced in the
Indian markets days after being unveiled at an international trade show in
Berlin speaks about india’s inportance for the tech giant.
Samsung already leads india’s smartphone market with around
50% market share but appears in no mood to get complacent in the highly
competetive market, which is growing at about 100% every year and has cutting
edge products from the likes of Apple, Sony LG and Nokia-Microsoft.
Mobile and IT products contributed 65% of samsung india’s Rs
27,000 crores revenue during 2012.
We will continue to
offer state of the art products to indian consumers, “said Vineet taneja, country head samsung mobile and IT. He added
that the computting smartwatch galaxy gear which is worn like any ordinary
wristwatch, allows users to make cells apart from seeing quick preview of
incoming emails and to a host of other apps.
“The Galaxy gear comes with a Bluetooth 4.0 and hence is
compatiable with the most of other Samsung devices,”said taneja.
Galaxy gear has been priced at Rs-22,990, while the galaxy
note 3 will come with a price tag of 49,990.
